Top 10 Internet Service Providers in Nigeria By Numbers Of Customer

In Nigeria, Internet service providers (ISPs) are still essential for extending access to the farthest reaches of the country. Nigerians would have been thirsty in the middle of the ocean without the ISPs that are sharing the enormous bandwidth capacity that is available at the beaches of Nigeria thanks to the numerous international fiber optic cables like WACS, Glo1, MainOne, among others.

In contrast to companies like MTN, Airtel, Globacom, and 9mobile, who focus on individual mobile users, ISPs serve mostly business organizations and residences under their own license domain, which is distinct from that of mobile network operators.

Mobile Network Operators are not included on this list of the top Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Therefore, it is not unexpected that the ISPs are counting hundreds of thousands of members while the MNOs have about 150 million subscriptions. According to information provided by the Nigerian Communications Commission, as of Q1 2022, there were 376,740 connected users to the ISPs (NCC).
